As the Head of Strategic Account Management (SAM) you will be responsible for achieving business outcomes by developing and maintaining strategic business relationships and driving the activities of the SAM and Tender Management Team by providing the overall direction and strategy. Due to internal promotion an opportunity has been created for an experienced candidate to lead our SAM team of 4 Strategic Account Managers (SAMs) and 1 Tender Manager.  You will be responsible for optimising your portfolio while working in a fast changing, highly competitive environment which demands innovate approaches to our business, people and customers.

 

You will be an integral member of the Established Products Business Unit Leadership team, working collaboratively to ensure alignment across key accounts. You will also work very closely with the members of the strategic brand portfolio and business support teams to ensure the SAM team is enabled to successful execute the business strategy.

 

In your role as the Head of Strategic Account Management, you will:

  • Provide SAM’s with clear direction on creation and execution of account plans, target setting and reporting, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Oversee and guide tender management to enable effective and successful tender strategies and execution.
  • Own relationships with state and private procurement groups.
  • Collaborate closely with the business unit Marketing team and Business Development functions to ensure alignment for success.
  • Monitor and review the planning and execution of account plans as well as monitor sales, costs and profitability for all strategic accounts.
  • Develop, execute and monitor the SAM KPI’s ensuring alignment to marketing strategies, productivity and effectiveness.
  • Direct and coach SAMs during in-field visits with a focus on the quality of interactions and outcomes.
  • Embrace a high performing SAM team and culture through hands-on management, leadership and coaching.

The position sits in the Established Business Unit (EBU) however represents all Roche brands where appropriate. The role also includes oversight of our tenders management and direct responsibility for State Health and Private Hospital procurement relationships. An understanding of biologics and biosimilars is an advantage. We have begun our journey to strengthen the SAM function and need someone to continue and add to this approach.
