A great opportunity presents for Biomedical Service Engineer with supervisory experience to join a small health care company based in Macquarie Park.

Working for a Medical Devices company, which specialises within the Healthcare and Animal Healthcare Industry.

Our client is currently in a phase of growth and they are looking for a self-motivated, energetic candidate with customer service experience to join their small team to deliver outstanding customer service with key customers across Australia.

About the Opportunity

Work for a well-established business who are at a stage of growth. Reporting directly to the CEO you will be a hands on Biomedical Engineer with supervisory/management experience. Work with a hands on approach with the team in the workshop directing and leading the team to achieve goals.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs, calibrates, and maintains medical equipment and instrumentation used by the Company and the Company's Customers.
  • Lead a team - set tasks and objectives to get the best out of the team in the workshop
  • Services various equipment and apparatus, including Infusion Pumps, Diagnostic Analysers, and other related technical paraphernalia.
  • Repairs, calibrates, and maintains equipment, using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and knowledge of manufacturers' manuals, troubleshooting techniques, and preventive-maintenance schedules.
  • Safety-tests medical equipment to ensure patient and staff safety from electrical or mechanical hazards.
  • Consults with staff and customers to ascertain that equipment functions properly and safely, utilizing knowledge of electronics, medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, chemistry, and physics.
  • Demonstrate and explain correct operation of equipment to medical personnel.
  • Modify or develop instruments or devices, under supervision of the manufacturer.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role ideally you will:

  • Previous experience supervising or managing a team
  • Initiative to drive the biomedical engineering team
  • Industry relevant qualifications with specialisation in Biomedical Engineering or Biomedical Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechatronic
  • An understanding of the Australian health system, together with significant clinical engineering experience in an Australian healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Australian Standard and Australian regulatory requirements for medical devices.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills along with highly developed computer skills.
