About the opportunity

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a leading diagnostics company as a Medical Affairs Director.

Your role as a Medical Affairs Director will involve:

  • Working to identify, engage, and develop long term relationships with current and rising thought leaders in infectious disease.
  • Provide in-depth scientific, clinical, health economic and educational support to external customers in support of company goals and initiatives.
  • Be responsible for the identification of research and educational opportunities.
  • Provide support to internal sales, marketing and customer service teams.
  • Must be knowledgeable in appropriate medical literature in order to facilitate a clear and succinct discussion of the clinical outcome.

Duties

  • Identify and develop professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, Clinicians & Antimicrobial Stewardship programs;
  • Utilise insights from clinician interactions to ensure that brand strategy is maximised;
  • Attend sessions at professional meetings and report back information of strategic interest;
  • Stay up-to-date on appropriate disease state and clinical information;
  • Manage the detailed plan of action for local evaluations to demonstrate and confirm medical value and performance expectations;
  • Lead medical education in the company.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in medicine (MBBS) is necessary
  • Extensive experience in infectious diseases is highly advantageous
  • Experience in working within a commercial environment is desired
  • Involvement in leading clinical studies (clinical trials, outcome studies, health economics studies etc) for medical products
